At MTJB We are Looking for Team Members Who:

•Enjoy spending time with children and looking after their physical, educational, and emotional needs
•Have the ability to speak clearly, and to inspire trust, confidence, and to motivate students
•To be able to model appropriate behaviour, language, and proper hygiene
•Have the ability to deal creatively and effectively with problems
•Have the ability to take responsibility
•Have the ability to be patient and kind with children, but still able to set firm boundaries

Job Requirements
-Applicants must be 18 years of age or older
-Applicants must have up-to-date immunizations
-All applicants must get a current CPIC with Vulnerable Sector Screening, or letters of reference if under 19 years of age.
-All staff in licensed child care setting will be required to get up-to-date First Aid and CPR Level C training
-A full course of COVID-19 vaccinations is recommended by the Ministry of Education
-All staff members in licensed child care are required to wear medical masks and eye protection while on site.
-We consider candidates who are graduates of students of the ECE, CYC, SSW or DSW programs, Although assistant positions do not require post-secondary education.

Job Duties
Early childhood educators and assistants perform some or all of the following duties:
•Provide care and guidance to children from the ages of 6 mos. to 12 years of age.
•Help lead children in activities to stimulate their development.
•Assist with proper eating, dressing, and toileting habits
•Maintain child care equipment and assist in housekeeping and cleaning duties.

MTJB operates under strict Public Health guidelines. A COVID-19 employee handbook is provided to each employee.
Policy and procedure training is supplied during orientation and on the job.
We have PPE on site.
